I believe Paleolithic people created art for other reasons besides the sake of art, and they would be as follows. One reason would be for the belief of a great big game they hunted that would feed the whole tribe, and would also make them rich. Also, they may have used art to assist them with their jokes and painted pictures of how they survived. Another reason I believe would be to make ceremonies for the forgotten tribe members that died hunting, fighting, and traveling from place to place. I really feel they painted to draw maps to know where they were going, to represent how they wanted to live in harmony, to make their media bigger or, they loved drawing and it was fun to do. Last, they could have made paintings to represent, the growth spurts in their hands for the babies, to represent how they interacted with nature, birth and fertility with the woman figurines, or to draw an attack for the special game they hunted like the picture I have below.
