The Interior Gateway Routing via link-state routing protocol do not look at any of the networks routers or hop counts, they make routes that are comprehensive and have a view the network that will tell them information about all of the routes and their prices for the routes. This router uses the Shortest Path First, and then it makes a loop database that also has a hierarchy that will make an image form its own point of perspective. Last, this router uses a multicast to transfer information to and from the system that is using it.

Some examples of this protocol would be as follows:

o Routing information Protocol

o Routing Information Protocol 2

o Routing Information Protocol Next Generation

o Interior Gateway Routing Protocol

The Distant Vector Routing Protocol lays in two different classes of routing protocols the link state protocol, and the routing protocols. This protocol uses the Bellman-Ford Algorithm, to calculate the paths that it makes for his router. This router works by using a router that informs its neighbor’s topology if it changes overtime. This protocol also manipulates different vectors that are connected to other nodes that are on the network

.

An example of this protocol would be the RIPv1, RIPv2, and the IGRP protocols. These would be examples of the protocols.

The Exterior Gateway Routing Protocol is a protocol that is used to exchange route different information between the two neighbor’s gateway hosts that are used, with their own routers. This is mainly used between the hosts that are on the internet, and is used to transfer information between the two routers. Some example of this protocol would be the Border Gateway Protocol, the Exterior Gateway Protocol and the ISO Inter Domain Routing Protocol IDRP

Interior Gateway Protocols are used the most in a typical LAN based environment, this is the most used and is a great choice because it’s more versatile and it routes better for this type of environment. Also, this routing information is used for network protocol within a LAN based environment that uses an IP.
