The first task in the Network Design process is knowing their requirements and customer design requirements. To complete these tasks you need to do the following.
· Find out what applications are needed and what services the network will provide.
· Next you need to find out what goals are needed to be met and start an implementation on them.
· What limitations are there for the network, like cost and constraints?
· What are the areas that the technical side of the network has set for their goals, like security, responses, management etc?
The next task in the Network design process is the network itself. The information is as follows.
· This requires the organizational information like the name of the website.
· What type of area will the site be located on a .com address or an IP address?
· Where the devices like servers and tape machines will be located and data storage centers.
· What types of times will the business will be open.
· How much power and electric will be used for the site and how much time the power and electric will be used.
Traffic Analysis.
The importance of traffic analysis deals with the downtimes of the network and also the overloading of the network due to high traffic loads. When it comes to traffic it’s just like a highway you cannot operate m such until the traffic dies down, and when you load too much with high traffic it causes the network to be overloaded. So it’s important to watch the downtimes and daily maintenance of the network or you can cause multiple overloads and also a failure in the network.
Understanding a Network.
The importance of understanding the network deals with the components and hardware and how the network operates. If you do not understand the network then there can be a lot of problems caused like break downs, device errors, website errors and more. When you understand how the network operates then you are able to implement ways to fix problems and applications without having to spend a lot of money to find someone who does. Like for instance you have two techs and they do not understand the network and the IP addresses are off set and they need to be configured correctly in order for the network to operate correctly. These two techs don’t understand this and try to fix it anyway and cause the whole network to zap out and fail and packets drop and also the network has to be redone. If they would have understood the network, they wouldn’t have had these problems. It’s important to know what you are doing when it comes to networking because one move of the wrong script, address or device, can destroy the whole network, so understanding how it works will make it easier, like when you are on the networks website and need a page for services and cannot find it and you work for the company, if you knew the network a little better you would know to look for a link that would take you to a link that would provide this information and handle what is needed to be done right away. The outcomes to understanding the network are limitless and need to be understood at all times.
