Some of my first ideas that came to mind that a database manager’s most important single duty was for them to design the database and implement any needed changes to the database. When I was first introduced to the IT area, I always thought that they had to make everything themselves, because that is what I was told. Now that I am an IT, I see that the most important duty is to manage the database activities, monitor any suspicious changes, permission grants, and implementing needed changes like more columns, more people, and any new items, products etc. The course of their duties vary in this world today, so the most important is to monitor the database, and keep the database updated, this will be what a managers job is, in most companies. Besides that implementation would come from the designers and the other staff who handle that area, that’s why I always thought they did everything all in one, until i found out it takes a team to get the whole job done, especially when you have a large database, and deal with a big firm.
